2020, Transformative floor installation with neon drawing 'encore, encore' (2018). Plaster, shellac, 25 m2
Ein quadratischer Raum wird komplett mit 81 handgegossenen Gipsplatten ausgelegt, die an der Vernissage unter dem Gewicht der Besucher/innen laut knackend brechen, um sich dann immer weiter zu zerteilen und zerreiben. Die Installation transformiert sich über die gesamte Ausstellungsdauer und wird nur von einer rosa und einer dunkelblauen Neonzeichnung beleuchtet. Der Titel, ‘Regolith’, verweist auf geologische Verwitterungsvorgänge und beschreibt hier einen quasi-geomorphologischen Prozess im Zeitraffer.
A square room is completely covered with 81 hand-cast slabs of plaster, which break with a loud cracking sound under the weight of visitors as they make their own way in the room at the vernissage, and the pops and grind continue. The installation radically transforms during the entire duration of the exhibition and is lit solely by a pink and dark blue neon drawing. The title, ‘Regolith’, taken from weathering processes in geology, describes here a quasi-geomorphological process in fast motion.
