Das Künstlerbuch ‘Im Loch ist es dunkel’ besteht aus einem über Jahre angelegten, umfangreichen Bildarchiv, ‘Die Sammlung der Löcher’, welches ausgewählten, vergangenen Arbeiten gegenübergestellt wird. Eine fragmentierte Geschichte, in der O. in eine Höhle kriecht, zieht sich durch die Publikation.
Dabei gilt das Interesse der philosophischen Dimension des Themas – das Loch als Metapher für Grabung und stete Suche einerseits und andererseits der Widerspruch aus Materie und Nichts, der dem Loch innewohnt – es beschreibt eine Leerstelle, welche nur durch seine ihm diametral widersprechende Nachbarschaft, den materialisierten Rand, wahrnehmbar wird.
Das Buch stellt ein Nachdenken über bedeutende und unbedeutende Löcher dar. Die Herausgeber versichern: Die Welt hat viele Löcher zu bieten. Und jeden Tag tun sich neue auf.

The artist’s book ‘Im Loch ist es dunkel’ consists of a large archive of pictures, ‘The Collection of Holes’ and is every now and then punctuated by past works of Claudia Kübler. She wrote a story which threads through the book, but is fragmented, with a protagonist named O., who crawls into a cave.
The artist is primarily interested in the philosophical dimension of the topic: the hole as a metaphor for digging, the steady quest on one hand and on the other, the contradiction of matter and emptiness which is inherent to a hole. It describes a void that can only be perceived by its diametrically opposing confines, the materialized edge. The book is a reflection on significant and insignificant holes that loom out there. The editors assure: the world has many holes to offer. And each day, new ones open.
