„Beim nächsten Ton ist es 12 Uhr, 39 Minuten und 10 Sekunden...“ Die Sprechende Uhr, in der Schweiz mit der Rufnummer 161 und bilingue, früher eine wichtige Nummer, um sich über die exakte Uhrzeit zu informieren und die eigenen Uhren zu richten, ist im Zeitalter digital automatisierter Synchronisation beinahe obsolet geworden. Dennoch existiert der Telefonservice noch. Und immer noch wählen pro Jahr mehr als eine Million Leute in der Schweiz diese Nummer – das sind mehr Telefonanrufe, als bei der Polizei eingehen.
In der Soundarbeit ‘161’, taucht die Sprechende Uhr in veränderter Form wieder auf. Ebenfalls bilingue, ebenfalls exakt synchronisiert mit der Echtzeit durch eine Atomuhr, wird hier statt das nächste, das letztgehörte Tonsignal von der Frauenstimme benannt. Der Moment wird in die Vergangenheit gerückt, die Zeit in zufällig ausgewählten Zeitpunkten nacherzählt:
„Beim letzten Ton war es 12 Uhr, 39 Minuten und 46 Sekunden...“

In today’s digital age, where most clocks are automatically synchronized, this telephone service seems obsolete. However, it still exists and there are more than a million people who dial the number every year. This is more calls than the police gets.

It is also bilingual and is also exactly synchronized with real-time by way of an atomic clock, however, instead of announcing the approaching time, it is the time at the last stroke that is announced by the female voice. The moment is shifted into the past, the time in randomly picked points of time renarrated:
„At the last stroke, it was twelve thirty-nine and fourty-six seconds...“
